In a sorry but telling way the world-wide financial crisis reads like the investigative side of AIDS and sexually transmitted desease clinics. “…the latest Canadian life insurer to detail its exposure to troubled U.S. financial-services companies…” and other news reports are interesting. Today we see news reports stating “We have no exposure to Lehman…” but we don’t see any IMF investigation that really wants to track the problem back to the source.
Like a big sex party gone bad, somebody was infected. Who is exposed to whom? Suffice it to say that even an ebola virus victim looks good for a while. Many people don’t feel sorry for the victims at all, saying they should have known better. It is a sign of the times, as excess and frivolity lead to volitility and a death knell for others.
